The weather, currently.
Takeaways for Chicago's weather:
1. Wet & Windy End To The Week
2. Few Snowflakes Saturday?
3. A Half Bad Weekend
After back to back 60s our highs fall into the middle 40s on Friday. To add insult to injury it will be a windy and wet day with at least light rain on and off. That rain could mix with a little wet snow Friday night into early Saturday but only minor accumulations on grassy surfaces are possible. Sunday will feature some sunshine and lower 60s and Monday looks mild too with highs near 60°F but cooler lakeside with a wind off of Lake Michigan. — Tim McGill
What you need to know, currently.
The next time this newsletter hits your inbox it will be truly “spring” in the Northern Hemisphere, by every definition— meteorological and astronomical. However many places experienced the equilux— or the time where day and night are equal lengths— today. Feels extra lucky to have an equilux on St. Patty’s day.
Tomorrow, if skies are clear near you look out for another spring phenomenon known as the “crow moon” or “worm moon”. This occurs when the moon appears larger in the sky because it is closer to the horizon and our eyes compare it to earthy objects like buildings and trees.
