The weather, currently.
Takeaways for Chicago's weather:
1. Only Spotty Showers Thursday
2. Brief Cooler Pattern Coming
3. Weekend Looks Wonderful
Most of Thursday should be dry with only a spotty shower possible. More clouds than sun and seasonably warm with highs in the middle 80s but cooler lakeside. Scattered showers and thunderstorms early and late Friday but some dry hours too as highs slide back into the lower 70s. We warm into the middle 70s with plenty of sunshine Saturday and the sun keeps coming Sunday as highs warm back into the lower 80s. Cooler lakeside all weekend. Warmer early next week with highs near 90 degrees by Monday.
What you need to know, currently.
We have a piece up today from Currently’s editorial fellow, Anna Abraham, on the survival and revitalization of Indigenous languages amid climate change.
“Many Indigenous and traditional languages across the world are deeply rooted in and connected to the environment,” Abraham writes. “Passed down from one generation to the next, often orally, this knowledge enables different ways of connecting to the land and nature. But as climate change intensifies, and ecosystems change as a result, Indigenous languages suffer losses.”
