The weather, currently.

Cooler week compared to last week

Takeaways for Chicago's weather:

1. Cooler Week Compared To Last Week

2. Most Rain During Middle Of The Week

3. Low Severe Weather Risk

After our stormy and steamy weekend we can look forward to a cooler and more quiet weather pattern. Highs on Monday slip into the upper 70s for most of us with only lower 70s along the lakefront. A break from the rain Monday with a mix of sunshine and clouds. More clouds than sun on Tuesday with some scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs still below average in the upper 70s. Warmer Wednesday as highs hit the lower 80s with another chance for some scattered showers and thunderstorms. No severe weather expected this week. Drying out for Thursday through the weekend with highs again slipping back into the upper 70s.

What you need to know, currently.

The California wildfire, now called the Oak Fire, continues to smolder for a third day right outside Yosemite National Park.

The fire has burned more than 14,000 acres and led to the forced evacuations of thousands of people. It began Friday in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.

The Oak Fire is just another symptom of the extreme heat wave that has been blanketing the U.S., with many parts of California blazing in triple–digit temperatures. As the nation bakes due to human-induced climate change, drought conditions worsen and wildfires become more frequent.

Here is a GoFundMe that we can donate to in the meantime: Family home burnt to the ground in the Oak Fire.
